Charles is clearly fluent in Conversational Captain Fang.
"Who's the bird in the hat?" I'm sure I would have always wanted to have said that, had I thought of it
Isn't that a line from My Fair Lady?
t!
Quill the Pigeon from 3586
I don't think they were really asking.
Luckily for them, it's just this dumbass captain who caught them escaping
.
THERE IS NO SOIL DRAINAGE THIS YEAR.
.
Sorry, the incessant rain seems to be affecting me in unexpected ways.
t!
I am very much looking forward to Gen's explanation.
Which I expect I should pluralise.
t!
Well, i though Fang was in their side. But it 's on the other they pass from saved to sink in a record time.
And Cole, robots are people, too.. You dissapointed so much little you. You must learn from Del
Fang's supposedly on the pirates' side, they hired him.
Though whether anyone can tell what Fang is talking about remains to be seen. It'd make sense for the crew to just ignore Fang's constant non-sequiturs.
The problem here is Quill the pigeon (who's not tagged on this page, incidently). This little critter is apparently smarter and more intelligible than Fang ever was.
Quill is definitely more coherent than Fang, although the ship's captain understands him. Quill is also more aware. Might even say that he's keeping a bird's eye v8ew on the ship
Btw, Cow: i love Cole's relaxed postures and expressions! Meant to comment on prior strips 😀
Fixed it.
YAFGC: ah, so that's why Socks said it's safe.
CoW: a very lifelike robot. And I definitely prefer Cole's attitude over Gen's.
Don't humanise your slaves, or food, or goods. You won't feel that weird guilt feeling.
O_o but slaves ARE people.
Not always, you just got to think outside the box. Technically any domesticated animal we farm for food is technically a slave.
…………..weren't we talking about a robot?
Also, a machine actually can break if it freezes, so it's not even really humanizing.
Do you mean those flesh tools? Oh, how can they be people like me? Then I should watch for their wellness.
And they also break but they fix themselves…if they don't, I can always throw them away and buy new ones.
Spoken like a true Drow.
In my head Cole and Gen are distant cousins, great some odd grandchildren of Glon.
I'm happy to confirm that it's no secret. Cole Bland is indeed a distant, but direct descendant of Glon Bloodhand, and by extension, Maula Bloodhand.
Gen Seul, however, is not related.
Is "Bland" a phonetic simplification or shortening of "Bloodhand"?
Presumably at some point in the family history, someone decided to try to clean up their image and dropped the direct violent imagery from their family name. The family crest is a lot more artistic now, and the name went through a few changes – with different offshoots of the line adopting different variations. But names like Bhand, Bloond, Bland, and others are all descendants from the Bl'Hand clan, which was once Bloodhand. Even in history before the time of Maula and Glon, it was noted that the first Orc King in the Black Mountain was "King Rogar of the Blooded Hand".
Never read the Forgottem Realms' books?
In moonshade (if i remember well) there are a legend that a hero with the name of an ancient hero save that land.
The hero at the moment didn't have that name… or that is he though.
An dwarve woman tells that all the people went with the hero name in that times and to recognize the name change to folk's types.
That's the reason Cymric is Kevin (and also other names)
Or so Iago was Santiago, Diego, Jaime, James…
Is very complicated a name didn't change in a hundred or less generations.
I have not read the Forgotten Reams books, no. But it's a phenomenon that happens. John, Ian, Yaan, Johan, Jean… they're all the same name.
Not ALWAYS mind you, I found my own name virtually unchanged in the Domesday book. Richard Philius Morris was an entry in the Book from around 1086.
My name is Richard Philip Morris. Pretty startling.
At least its not a swallow, they carry weapon's grade coconuts.
