So when did Gummer decide that his greatest chances of survival were to be in the middle of the army opposing Ranna anyway? Didn’t he already decide that being anywhere near Lucas was bad for his life expectancy? 😉
Methinks C’rhynne is DONE with gorgons at this point. After the purging of Tempul and whatever shenanigans she got into in the interim, I’d wager she’s going to have trouble not drawing steel on a garden snake. ?
Oh my god, that’s right!
As if his first scene and that battle with the Land-Shark wasn’t enough of a clue….
Very good, and it really is a thrill a miniute to see a reunion like this. It can’t be easy for even the creator to keep this all straight in your head.
Kudos!
hey so if the gorgon stare works on other gorgons would it also work on Ranna? why is it that whenever someone was turned into a gorgon they just automatically rolled over for the one who basically cursed you. if any sort of malevolent entity forces any sort of power upon me against my will I’d use every ounce of that power to kill them and claim their throne, then I’d have a big ol’ celebration orgy, with cake and pizza.
Or even in cases like Sahar’s, where there was no prior brainwashing, the gorgon curse wasn’t just "You’re a gorgon now." It was "You’re my gorgon mind-slave now."
For those like Meegs who could adapt to serving Ranna without too much inner conflict, they got to keep large chunks of their original personality. For those like Sahar who couldn’t, their own minds seem to have been largely overwritten (for the duration of the curse, at least) in favor of a generic Rannite personality.
but like, you’re turning these people into servants because they have strong personalities or are very smart, why then would you brainwash them to have a generic personality? wouldn’t it make more sense to just pick the biggest buffest person you can find if the mind of the person isn’t necessary? the more I think about it the more inept Ranna seems to be, it’s like she’s not actually thinking things through, she’s basically just improving this and by some dumb luck everything is working in her favor. meanwhile when more competent villains like Lewie actually think about their plans they just get shit on by luck. it seems the RNG of RPGs favor the dumb in most universes, in all my games playing D&D it was exactly the same, we easily kill the smart guys who carefully plot against us but that giant squid which literally can’t think almost devoured our assholes, a group of rival players who out leveled us and had a healer that could raise the dead and teleport got roflstomped when we just stopped thinking and bum rushed them.
Their personalities aren’t being wiped, they are being twisted
We never saw what was done to Sahar or Meegs, while Sahar’s was a quick conversion (possibly what helped with the reversal?), Meegs had been out of the limelight for a long time so could have been brainwashed first
As for Lewie, he was cursed to fail when doing evil
And down came the BAD Ranna. And SHE said….
Little Astrid Foo Foo!
I don’t want you running through the battlefield
Finding all the dragons
And lobbing off their heads!
Panel 1 gets me thinking of Forged in Fire. "This is the Kill Test. I will take your sword and make multiple lethal strikes on this [s]pig carcass[/s] Drow to see what it will do to an opponent. [ Lots of strikes, including going from under the shoulder blade to come out through the clavicle. ] As you can see, your weapon will keel!"
Astrid is certainly living up to her name…
Sir Catianus! Oh, no!
Someone else had to die
Being petrified isn’t actually death.
Not in itself: name three petrified characters who were saved
Name three characters anyone was interested in saving.
Does it matter? They got the cure.
Cadugan, Lucas, Rehen (was that his name? The Rogue.)
Getting stoned – not good.
Well, there are safer ways
I hope Gram the Alchemist is somewhere in the vicinity. https://www.yafgc.net/comic/3063-moving-on/
Well, the problem is, those statues are fragile. Especially in the middle of a battlefield… 🙁
"Sir Catianus! Oh, no!" They were pretty much my first thoughts too…
Anyone have some stone salve for Sir Catianus?
And the correct pitch
Medic ! Er….Sculptor ?

Question is: has he met Queen Clover yet?
Maybe the battlefield just happened to be directly above his bunker?
Well, logically if Ranna succeeded then everyone’s life is forfeit.
Not just life. She’s ruling the afterworld as well.
If it turns out that wearing shades protects someone from a gorgan’s gaze, I hope Gummer brought a few hundred thousand more of them.
Those aren’t just shades. They’re mirror shades.
Yowtch! C’rhynne is *not* screwing around. That looks *painful*.
Also I love that the angle of the thrust and her body indicate she approached her target obliquely. As one must.
t!

Coming soon to a theater near you, "Snakes on a Battlefield!"
"I hate these f####ing snakes on a battlefield!"
Snakes on a plain?
Ha! Even better! Well done, Deborah. ?
I’m sure someone, in a previous strip, has probably asked this, but…
does anyone else get a Father Guido Sarducci vibe off Gummer?
Wrong reference.

panel 4 – physics? an axe that size, cutting a neck that size in a single swing – magic vorpal dragon slaying axe?
Magic dragon-slaying axe, magic dragon-slaying axewoman. Astrid Wormhunter has one job, and by the gods, she’ll do it thoroughly.
If Zac wants a dragon he better hurry up before Astrid takes care of all of them. 😉

Believe the gorgonization (in most cases) was the final step, brainwashing and torture was used first
Go back and see how Celena was converted

Love to eat them dragons,
Dragons what I love to eat.
Lop their scaly heads off,
Nibble on their scaly feet!

Meanwhile, at the front….
Damn.
Well, those of us that have had a hard time keeping up with a cast of bazzilions will have it much easier after this battle is done.
(no, NOT complaining, just an attempt at humor dark enough for the scene)
Something tellls me, that gorgon doesn’t know yet, what she has done. As Adwen showed it before, nicknames are given for a reason.
Here is what I had in mind: https://www.yafgc.net/comic/1408-adwens-therapy/
