Crackpot is a good descriptor for Eddy, but you know what’s better? Nothing. It’s perfect.

I don’t know about kobold, but yeah… I’m certainly anticipating something other than typical human scholar.

There is the theory, that those who are way more intelligent than their surroundings, wont be understood by the people around them. Therefore they are often regarded as crazy and treated as a "madman". Who knows, it might turns out, that in fact, kobolds are the most intelligent and wisest creatures of the realm… 😉

Do we know Captain Fang’s first name?

      That, or an orangutan.

Just don’t call him a Monkey.

An orangutan would be much more intelligent than a Kobold.

Since it is implied he would take certain interest in having a conversation with someone from Black Mountain, I’d assume Trevor himself lived there for some time; the title "The LITTLE librarian" could be a hint that his size is below average so… cobold, goblin, duergar, Charlot… oh, wait, never mind that.
Yeah, cobold is a plausible guess.

Glon might be the first person to take Eddy seriously. Fortunately, C’rhynne was here to disabuse him of that notion.

Also, nice to hear Eddy name-dropped again. Will be interested to find out who this Trevor is. I guess the only thing we know is they’re a pipe-smoker. Which could stereotypically suggest a halfling, but BK being BK, I’ll not be surprised or disappointed to be wrong.

While all this curiosity is still running around, I still wonder what happened to that mind flayer (or whatever he called his people). Did I forget something between here and that desert place?

Dunno, last I remember he was preying on minds in an University but I could be wrong.

Mr. ‘Squid last appeared during the Rannite battles in the Black Mountain, sucking the brains out of a Dark Mistress. He’s not been around for a while, though and as such it was only a cameo. His fate and that of his people remain to be seen.

I discover within myself a mild surprise that Eddy realises he needs advice from others.

Oh, that’s the easy part. Simply get thoroughly soaked with water while still wearing your clothes, then sit in a dark room for a few days.

I suspect Eddy might regard his relationship with this archivist more in the way that, say, Keith Richards regards Akron Dave, that guy at the guitar shop who really knows the nut spacing and depth to make the action on Micawber, his favorite Telecaster, feel effortless and even. Dave may be good at what he does, he might even be good enough to hire as a roadie…but that doesn’t put him anywhere near the league with the man who makes that guitar sing.
