My God, the things you said in just the little bit of transit space, there. What a vivid vision of Ranna’s world…as dark as the very first strips of the Age of Shadows.
There is indeed so much said in these panels about what a terror the YAFGC world has become with Rana in charge. I hope Rana’s defeat will happen soon, and Ch’Thier will be released.
And with all the various grim scenery depicted by the vast talent displayed by our beloved storyteller, the very first thing that popped into my mind upon seeing that last panel was that old Alka-Seltzer commercial theme of "Plop, plop, fizz, fizz, oh, what a relief it is…."
When I saw panel 4, I thought that the scrolls had flown all the way to Roman occupied Jerusalem, but then I remembered that the Rannites were using this mode of execution as well.

Yeah, those Dark Mistresses were enjoying it ***way too much!***

Masterfully done, Rich.
Forget Game of Thrones, this is the battle to be watching!
😀 High recommendations indeed.

I think the link is busted. Keeps sending me to some "You too can be a wizard" site….
It has been 10 years since we last time saw her.
And that was in a flashback!
Will we get to see Jewel, too?
Maaaaaybe.
And this is how reading comments can be useful.
Nice piece of context for the whole world Rich created. Really setting the scene for something epic.
I keep thinking of titles for each strip, lol. For the last strip (or maybe even this one) I’d call it, "On a wing and a prayer."
Since they said, "Mighty Ch’Thier, hear our prayers…" and then they flew forth as winged pleas. (Oh, *that’s* there the word please comes from).
I, too, am very much looking forward to seeing whether Jewel makes a grand reappearance. 🙂
Heheh…you know perfectly well…

Alka-kobold Seltzer? That could explain Captain Fang, there’s no doubt his brain is fizzy.
Mountain – destroyed.
Human areas – unspeakable horror.
Halfling village – untouched.
Conquest is vanity; vanity presumes superiority; superiority means underestimating those considered too far beneath you… and that is how empires fall.
t!
Well said. Even the most unlikely things should be considered, guess Ranna did not read the Evil Overlord Handbook.
or Lord of the Rings…
