And I thought she was supposed to be the smart one.
😛

Of course the Rannites left.

They left this mortal coil.

Weren’t you paying attention to what Glon was doing?

Yeah, but I kinda doubt he killed Ranna and Goshzilla too, right?

Rancid told Daggie when she ordered her torture that she was leaving

Hummm is Yarrick Dagmars "Puss in Boots" hyper-competent sidekick and still love here, and now the best action is take power and let Dagmar continue hang upside down to give him time to fix the mess she have done to the realm or he is motivated by "evil" I want power and Dagmar is only a tool.

Perhaps neither. He could still just be mad at her betrayal.

You’d be surprised at how much damage a human body can survive…
and Gnolls are tougher… Flinds even moreso.

To quote quite a few characters from Disney’s "Return of Jafar"

First person: But Genies can’t kill!
Second person: you’d be surprised what you can live through!

At least he’s not holding a grudge about the whole He Betrayed Us He Must Be Punished thing.

isn’t that the reason why his choices are to either kill her or keep her locked in the torture chamber?

I would have thought, yeah, but he seems to be talking instead about personal ambition.

Well, that’s because that _is_ what he did, and her actions, under that situation, was the correct one, if she hadn’t, and Rancid found out, things would have happened… pretty much how they did happen

He _did_ betray them, more importantly, he betrayed _her_

All the guy did was let two drow go. I’d hardly call that "betrayal". It’s not like he tried to shiv Dag in the back.

And if things would’ve happened the same either way, then you can’t really say her actions were the correct actions. She was doing what she thought would help her save face with Ranna, and that’s all she cared about. Not Yarrick, not her peoples’ safety, but her position and power.

But those drow were prisoners belonging to Daggie

Torture is not as lethal as it looks like in the YAFGC universe. (Makes sense, it’s based on old AD&D rules. Characters have a lot of hit points to soak up damage.)

Dislocated shoulders aren't typically lethal in the real world either.

*snerk* And i thought Yarrick would be mad at Glon for hurting Dagmar… 😉

I’m not sure I get how this makes sense. If she dies, there would be a power-struggle, but if she is kept alive in the dungeon, Yarrick gets the power? Who’s going to look after her? Why would the other gnolls be alright with just letting her hang there? Why wouldn’t someone just kill her to cause that power-struggle and get Yarrick out of there?

The only thing I can think of is that Dagmar is really not liked by the other gnolls, and Yarrick is either liked or tolerated. Still, seems kinda goofy.

Considering her family its not goofy. Yarrick have probably done all the practical ruling then she have amused herself.

He probably just has to get someone loyal to him keep an eye on her, and tell the others she is currently ill and he, her husband, is passing on her orders.

Wait, has Yarrick forgotten something important? Daggie was only the Hyeesha because the Caliph allowed her to live, but under his rule

true, but dag has sort of betrayed them by wanting a alliance with the rancids. Yarrick can plead he did not want to have anything with alliance, just like dagmar did when her mother revealed she did not care of a big take over. and just rule with the caliph keeping a eye on him.

Problem is, he talked about _their_ laws, as in Flind slash Gnoll Laws, not the rules set down by the Caliph (speaking of, didn’t he send someone to act like an envoy or something to keep an eye on them?)

If I remember correctly, if a Flind/Gnoll chieftain doesn’t die and become sick or mad or horribly injured, the highest ranking member of the husbands/wives are granted full powers of the chieftain in the eyes of the tribe. Since Yarrick is her favourite "husband" he’s the ranking one so gains all the power as we all can see that Dagmar is horribly injured and given she did let a priestess be gorgoned and sided with an insane Goddess who then turned on her as an afterthought, I think Yarrick has a good case to say she’s gone mad. Even if she isn’t.

Didn’t know that about flinds/gnolls. Guess the Caliph(a) wouldn’t really care which furry puppet was sitting on the throne as long as it doesn’t cause disruptions (well, if the Calipha’s entire family wasn’t running for their lives in the desert, except for the Caliph who has firmly laid down roots 😛 )

Still, personally feel, what Daggie did was the sensible course of action (same as what Yarrick did, mainly because can’t imagine adorable Arachne getting away if she was still behind bars when Rancid came for her tour of the facilities)

Unless she’s got some weird, funky kind of blood circulation going on with Flind physiology, her blood will accumulate in her head & eventually kill her anyway…
As far as it goes with humans, this is true.
