Pineapple on pizza needs something for balance. I usually pair it with Pepperoni, the spiciness of which balances the sweetness of the pineapple.
And Mushrooms, because I always like a Fungi.
OK, the original pineapple on pizza recipe called for thin slices, not chunks. That way they'd caramelize on top of the ham and make it more tender.
