That was a nice shot. Starting to think Sidonie and Astrid are related.
The arrows are magically enhanced to be good against dragons. or maybe the bow.
Flame-resistant arrows.
Wood is a bad conductor of heat. You can char the outside but you need one hell of a fire (pun very much intended) to burn it to ash in a fraction of a second.
