I’d say "good boy, Glon", but that wouldn’t exactly be the right phrase.

Perhaps ‘adapts well to local cultures’ ?

    …Why?

      Which part confuses you?

That she is the pretty barmaid who always rejected him because of his looks, that he’d long fancied?

That seeing the balancing of karmic scales strikes a cord of satisfaction in most readers, to some degree or other?

That he’s always been of evil alignment, since birth?

That he now lives (and is thriving in) a community and culture that is predominantly evil, and considers kidnapping a hobby?

That, EXACTLY as demonstrated by Arachne earlier to Princess Dewcup (Right here: https://www.yafgc.net/comic/0185-kingnapped/ ) kidnapping a person of the opposite sex you find desirable is a perfectly acceptable courtship method in their unapologetically Evil culture?

Final question: Does the fact that the genders have reversed from the above-linked scenario automatically make one of them comical and the other deeply upsetting? And if "yes", do you somehow rationalize that as NOT being an incredibly sexist attitude?

There’s another factor. When we saw her reject him, she gave him the "oh, I’m working that night" bit. Turning him down, but leading him on to think he might still have a shot somehow. Just because she never intended to return his affection doesn’t mean she didn’t enjoy being chased.

She's also a barmaid. Convincing patrons to stop coming there and spending their money because they finally accept they have zero chance with her directly impacts her income.
