Methinks the goddess made a mistake saying the barbarians were not evil. They’ve shown they’d fit right in with all the evil cultures in the mountain so far
They would have (and were trying to) accept a surrender and honor it.
Setting their leadership on fire is very much NOT surrendering, and so the fight goes on.
