      Arranged marriages work well significantly more often than love-marriages, actually.
      Divorce is literally 10x more common in love-marriages.

          Seeing marriage primarily as an economic/political institution offers far more solid reasons to stay together as well.

            Not to mention that if two people dislike each other in marriage they are often free to pursue release "elsewhere" without any jealousy.
