Of course, it just so happens that the foremost expert on curses that you’ll find available is most likely to be the one who cast the curse in the first place. After all, they happen to be right there anyway…
"Simple but tricky" are opposites.
If it’s "simple" then it isn’t tricky or complicated, and if it’s "tricky" then it’s not simple or straightforward.
The counter-curse may be something extremely simple if it’s something that can be easily overlooked.
For this example, the counter-curse my be as simple & straightforward as having the rest of the immediate family spin around counter-clockwise three times. The tough part is *finding out* what you have to do to cancel the curse; In it’s simplicity, it’s highly unlikely that anyone would be able to accomplish it by unintentional accident.
