    ROFL I love you, C’rhynne.

I confess that I do not.

As a *character*, she works very well.

But as a *person*, she confronted a stranger who indicated peaceful intent, and responded to his distress by barring his access to assistance. Whereupon she swung a sword at him.

Having then defeated him, and him showing exactly zero desire for retribution nor any intent to be uncooperative, she still elected to confiscate/steal his personal property.

I believe that’s likely temporary, in her capacity as guard. Confiscating weapons for the duration of an office visit isn’t too unusual. (That’s my guess, at least.)

Mine, too – but couldn’t she say that?
(The answer, clearly, is No: Her belligerent pride won’t let her.)

in her defense, the town IS overrun with Rannites.

If he was a Rannite, he wouldn't be sneaking in at night. And he wouldn't "not want to hurt her". It's quite clear that she attacked him first, instead of, say, telling him she'd let him in if he surrenders his weapon while inside.

I still can’t help but wonder how did Glon get here, and what kind of urgent and private business he can have which requires a librarian…
But I am glad he is here. Its always good to hear from our friends, plus his presence gives me the feeling/hope that C’rhynne might become a permanent character as well. 🙂

Aya, libraries hold the dearest treasure of all: knowledge. Extelligence – like intelligence, but external and shared. If there is any hope for the world, it lies in the books, the stored memories of all who shared their thoughts on paper.

Oh, I admit I chuckled out loud when I realised "C’rhynne" is just the sort of name a PC would come up with when I tried actually pronouncing it and kept landing on "Karen".

Soften the hard ‘C’ to a sibilant/’S’. I was working with "Selina," at the time, and subbed an ‘r’ for the ‘l’. Pronounced ‘Serene,’ for YAFGC. ?

Oh, I understand, but I accepted it as part of Rich’s humour to parody how players will take a name like, say, Stephen, and make it seem more fantastical with inventive spelling like Stiv Vynnh.

Oh, sure. Just showing exactly how I arrived at her name, before I gave her over into Rich’s control. I never claimed to be an original writer. ?

Ha, just be grateful nobody is called Constantinople Theodopolopodous spelled all wiggly.

Which inadvertently leads to a practical point – they have to fit inside the speech bubbles.

            I once made a halfling monk with the Unknown Background who had amnesia; when she was found, and asked her name, all she could remember was the last thing she heard. So she figured that was her name;

            Tol Jasoe.

Oh? As if "Constantinople Theodopolopodous" isn’t *already* spelled all wiggly?
            😉

Yeah it is wiggle enough lol. Imagine having a surname that has the letter ‘o’ in it 6 times!

If you were a beholder, like Bob, you could easily *see* that it’s the Grell…

I love how she’s not being prejudiced to the presence of a Half-Orc. Is that just because he’s not a Rannite or is she that tolerant/accepting?

    Please let it be accepting.

Tolerance is only needed when something is wrong. Some people just don’t see it as wrong in the first place.
I get the impression C’rhynne is more concerned with doing her job which is keeping the library safe. Everything else to her is secondary.
A lot of old librarians might be coming back to life soon… 😀
