It sounds like Kanona is a converted human, and not a "natural" gorgon after all…since she speaks to Gram about "our" village. Let’s hope Charles’ run of good luck holds long enough to free and recruit the alchemist.
One thing I’m not clear on is whether the poor human lab assistant is literally an undead zombie at this point, or just so brain-damaged that the gorgons use that term for her…
Oh, man. It’s worse than that. The poor girl is so undeaded/zombified/drain bammaged that she doesn’t even rate an entry as a Characters:
On the upside, this might make her safe from Ranna’s attentions in the afterlife. Still, one of the saddest appearances in YAFGC. It’s a bit too easy, sometimes, to lose perspective on the tragedy of a person in the midst of having fun and the mix of humor. One small consolation here is that she’s so far gone she should be immune to any further pain.
I am looking forward to Charles sticking it to Kanona (seems likely with an assist from Gram?). Hopefully she will suffer in full measure against the wages she’s earned for suffering she’s inflicted … and then Ranna can make feast upon her soul for her failings.

Also not sure if ‘our’ is a typo and she means ‘your’ or if she is indeed a converted human.
Note that even with her being converted human the other two might been "natural".
