Given how the years have passed and quite a few things have advanced, it wouldn’t be strange for guns to have been invented slightly before that strip.
Now I wonder how long until we see cannons on land and armour made of Aluminum or newer materials.

Aluminium is tricky. I mean, if you can get it with magic, sure, go ahead. But until electrolysis is invented, non-magical production is extremely difficult/expensive. In the middle of the 19th century, aluminium was more expensive than gold or platinum.
