A standard guideline to all of us who go abroad for adventure: Don’t piss off the party Cleric.

I believe it was Joecrap that said you needed 20 adult black dragons per cleric to keep an encounter balanced

One good reason for not pissing off your party’s Cleric is that the healer is not really healing anybody.

You do know that Cyclopes have poor depth perception due lack of binocular vision, just relying on focus cues. Just stand a foot out of club range and you are safe but they won’t know it until the swinging club misses, but you really have to watch out for their archers!

Then it’s on YOUR judgement about where the range limit is. You’re also gambling your life on some pretty big assumptions.

Don’t forget, it won’t be the first time in their lives they’ve swung a club, nor did they lose a 2nd eye just yesterday. They have experience. Big swings not only do a lot of damage, but cover a lot of area, and all they have to do to extend their range limit is take a quick step forward.

(After seeing the next page… and how big these cycopi actually are)
Yikes! Maybe it’s OUR depth perception that’s limited (by a 2-dimensional comic page)!

While everything I said about their attacks covering a large area is still true, the bigger they are, the more area that is, and it’s pretty hard to dodge a wide swing covering an area almost the size of a basketball court.
