If she can walk away form this one I will be annoyed…a pile up like this is fatal even for a werewolf

Depending on how Rich does the natural damage resistance of werewolves she may survive. Then again she may not.

Given a Raptor like those in game terms only inflict 1d6+2 with a bite, and 1d8+2 with their sickle claw, and a werewolf has damage resistance 15/silver, they’re just tickling Havrah with love nibbles. Unless they have something that makes their bite count as magical, like a druid casting one of the Magic Fang spells.

I would be hella surprised if we got a monstersquad style recovery after this

In 5e lycantropes have even more drastic "immunity to piercing, slashing and bludgeoning damage from non-magical, non-silvered weapons". So unless Raptor bite is indeed magical/silvered, they can as well be doing 1d6+200, it doesn’t matter to Havrah.

        in 3.5 it’s 10/silver not 15
        http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/lycanthrope.htm#werewolf
and the smallest of the raptors does 1d8+4 (Deinonychus) so… basicaly yes, they only tickle her

As far as I know YAFGC is not canon to AD&D

also i think Rich has said that it bears resemblance more toward 1st and 2nd ADnD than other gaming systems, as that’s what he grew up playing but isn’t held to that, as others have stated. it is cool to think of how different scenarios work in different gaming systems/worlds though 🙂

Werewolves are much tougher than this. They can withstand almost continuous physical damage while regenerating. I expect feathers to fly.

Key word is "while", no magic effect is infinite.
And look at it from another PoV: They are holding her down, effectively delaying the pursuit.

Yes, pursuit is delayed despite the outcome

Dog-pile the werewolf! Does eating a werewolf infect you with its abilities? I guess it would depend on whether it is genetic or viral.

Well… infection from a werecritter is generally transmitted via injury (usually a bite) and body fluid transmission (saliva usually). Though that’s up to Rich.

Sooooooo… technically you’d be fine eating a werecritter as long as you didn’t have a cut somewhere that came contact with saliva or blood (there’s other ways, but I’m keeping this PG).

If you go by DnD rules, only humanoids and giants can be infected by lycanthropy. But this is Rich’s world so that may not necessarily be true.

I doubt the contagion is transmissible to dinosaurs.

Could just be me…But in the 7th panel, they seem to be looking at their (now wounded) compatriot, that lies between them and Havrah.

So, that "pileup", could very well be, the baddies eating their own.

The head at six o’clock in the 7th panel is Havrah, not dinos.

Yes it is…But, the wounded, and probably still prone dino, is center. Now follow everyone’s gaze. The snout of the port and starboard dinos, are pointing dead center, of the panel, and not the bottom, of it.

I still hope they piled up on their wounded, and Havrah makes it.

They might not do anything to her, but if they delay her long enough, it gives Maran time to escape.

It could be the old cartoon thing, they all jump onto the pile, and then the subject of the pile crawls out from underneath – while the pile continues to squirm (presumably attacking each other in the confusion) – and the target runs off before they can sort themselves out and he realize she’s gone!

Its silly, but that is the point, its a gag.

"Dismembered by dinosaurs" is not the ending I’d have predicted for Havrah, but I’m okay with it.

I thought that the dinosaurs were Ranna's creatures? I guess she doesn't protect her other minions from them.
