I know there’s a backstory here from your old gaming group. Care to share?
Biff was my DM when we played Al Qadim for several years. The characters getting eaten by Turg are our PCs. At one point in our story, Biff decided we’d become "too big for our britches" and needed to teach us a lesson, perhaps even killing one of us off. And so we encountered a powerful Minotaur.
However… our dice karma was with us that day, and instead of being pummeled terribly, we dispatched the Minotaur with ease, with mine (the child beggar-thief) getting the final kill with a critical roll on a sling stone. Biff was so put-out that his plan didn’t work that he’s grumbled about it (and we’ve teased him about it) ever since.
So this strip was an attempt to both further and publicly rib him and also to make a peace offering, showing his plan succeed.
An odd piece of trivia here is that I do believe that at least one of these characters makes a return cameo in the future and I have plans to work another onto the story in future. So… could be awkward.
