Cool! Season 2 was my favorite as well, but I think 4 was my second favorite.

After 4, there's the miniseries (Peacekeeper Wars), and then the story picks up in the BOOM comics, by Krad and supervised by Rockne. (Don't worry, Krad is a huge Farscape fan and gets all the characters right. He also wrote a novel, House of Cards, which is pretty good, but make sure you get the US printing. Someone else wrote a Farscape novel where they got a lot of stuff wrong, and the UK publishers insisted Krad's novel be changed "to match" the previous one, resulting in a lot of complaints and overseas shipping orders from UK fans.)

*I think Krad's actual name is Keith De'Angelo - but I always think of him as his online handle, which is all his initials combined.

There's been some tweets on twitter, suggesting there's some headway being made on new Farscape -webisodes, but no one in the know is allowed to talk about anything at this point. So they're just hinting in little tweets, right now

been rewatching the series lately (along with reading the comics... yes, the chars are portrayed right imo) and i just hit season 2 finale... the only thing dimming my enjoyment is that i know what happens to the series (not -in- the series, that doesn't bother me)

...frelling idiots

The nice thing about rewatching it is that there is so much depth and layers, that you can always pick up new things and different nuances each time.

I just watched the episode "Kansas" last night. There's a great big gaping plot hole that kept bugging me to no end.
They're all speaking their own languages, right? They all (except Sikozu) have translator microbes that let them understand each other, right?
So why ? Aeryn's attempts to learn English, and D'Argo's 'limited' vocabulary, just make this problem more glaringly obvious, in my opinion.

Also, I can report that brick jokes don't really work if you don't remember the original "brick out the window" story.

haven't watched the episode lately, but unless i have forgotten something, that's not how TM work

they allow -them- to understand others, not others to understand them. when they encounter a race without TM, communication has to be done the old-fashioned way

Exactly.

Also, by the time of "Kansas," Aeryn is learning some English. D'Argo has an English vocabulary of four words ("Yes. No. Bite me."), which gets him in trouble with a cop in one scene.

However, in several scenes, the other two characters that I mentioned speak to humans, who appear to understand them without any aid. That's the part that was bothering me (though not enough of a problem to stop me from enjoying the episode).

Chiana and Noranti (and Rygel, for all the good it did him) also learned quite a bit of English - it was Chiana who taught D'Argo his two phrases. Everyone but D'Argo was also practicing English in the house. Noranti also communicated while dosing someone at one point, and I thought there was a telepathic effort involved (she has minor mental abilities, tied in with the glowing 3rd eye), imprinting the idea of what she was saying as mental command.

Young Johnny had a bit of difficulty understanding the words Chiana spoke (hence the name he thought she said was Karen Shaw) but no problem understanding her body communication <g>

Having the translator microbes help them understand what people are saying in their own language, does seem to help learning the language. (John picked up enough Sebacean to pass as an officer in his first year in space.)

Well, I finished the season a couple days ago.

I realize that they shot the season finale before they knew that the show was being canceled, but you know, that would have been an absolutely heartbreaking way to end the series if not for the Peacekeeper Wars.

I actually saw PKW a couple of years ago, before I'd had a chance to see the series at all. It'll be interesting to see it again, now that I know what's going on!

I think it was bold and brilliant of them to leave the ending the way it was. If they hadn't trusted the fans to find a way for Farscape to continue, and given up, we'd never have gotten Peacekeeper Wars and the comics.

That is the same reason that Buffy and Angel are still alive in comic form. A good ending will leave room for a future. 8)
That is unless everyone dies. :dizzy:

Better late then never at all, they are working on a new Farscape project. 16yrs later, the child hidden on Earth all these years is about to get his inheritance.

Looking forward to seeing what new things may be.
